How We Met

Our journey began with a mutual curiosity and desire to learn. Jacques-Emmanuel (later renamed just "Emmanuel" by Kim) wanted to improve his Dutch for his job, and Kimberly was trying to learn French. We met through a language exchange platform and, very quickly, we discovered a shared passion for music, art and talking 24/7 about anything and everything, which quickly turned into a deep and lasting connection.

Falling in Love

Our conversations about language evolved into conversations about life, dreams, and everything in between. We spent countless hours sharing our favorite songs, exploring our ideas, and learning more about each other's cultures. Before we knew it, we had fallen in love.

Long Distance Love

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, it forced us into a long-distance relationship, with Emmanuel in Belgium and Kimberly in the Netherlands. Despite the distance and the challenges that came with it, our love only grew stronger. We found creative ways to stay connected, from virtual dates to sending handwritten letters, and creatively making music video clips at distance!

A New Chapter

After the pandemic, we were finally able to close the distance and move in together in the Netherlands. Building a life together has been an incredible journey, filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures. Recently, we reached another milestone: we bought our first house together. This new home is a testament to our shared dreams and commitment to each other.

Through every challenge and triumph, our love has remained steadfast. We have pledged to spend our lives together, supporting and cherishing each other through every chapter that lies ahead. Our story is just beginning, and we are so excited to see where this beautiful journey takes us next.
